Much thanks to Steve J. for a wonderful Quiz. Here's what he had to say:

Congratulations to the PhDs! I wasn’t sure if I was being too tough, but it looks as though some of you figured it out. I did predict that people would get either 1-2 shots or the whole enchilada. The key to scoring big was in the scoring of films – sort of. The Bonus Shot is from a scene in The Holiday where Jack Black’s character (a film composer) plucks DVDs off the shelf in a Blockbuster store and tells Kate Winslet’s character about the film scores. He hums or sings several of the tunes. The four shots this week are all from DVDs that he pulls off the shelf. If you got the Bonus Shot and could remember or look up that scene, you were home free. Dustin Hoffman is recognizable in the shot, but if you check IMDb for films that he acts in you won’t find this one listed. He was technically uncredited in the film, but if you look at films/projects where he plays himself you will find the listing. Hoffman was only in the scene by a fluke. He noticed a film crew in his neighborhood and dropped by to check it out. The director (Nancy Meyers) is a friend of his and she convinced him to do a quick cameo. When Jack Black sings the theme to The Graduate (Mrs. Robinson) they cut to Hoffman saying, “I can’t go anywhere.”
For anyone who is interested, Shot A is Dan Ackroyd and Patti Lupone preparing to go to a dinner and waving goodbye to Jessica Tandy. That his name is Dan makes Captain Video’s Dan & His Reel Wife even funnier. Shot B occurs just after Scarlett O’Hara has shot a Yankee intruder who has come to Tara to loot. She drags his body out to the arbor where she and Melanie bury it, swearing to tell no one. Shot C is Aidan Quinn with Robert Deniro’s sword at his throat. He has been discovered in bed with the woman his hot-tempered brother (DeNiro) loves. Shot D is my favorite, from one of my favorite films. The scene is the Amity Island town meeting held to discuss whether to close the beaches due to shark attacks. Quint (Robert Shaw) disrupts the meeting by scraping his nails down a blackboard, causing everyone to react in a similar manner to the woman in the shot. I don’t know the actress’s name, but at least one friend of mine was able to ID the shot without help from the bonus tie-in. Thanks to everyone for playing, and I’ll start work on some more evil ideas in case I should win again in the future.

This week there were 7 participants, with 6 getting at least one answer right. A brilliant performance by our 3 PhDs this week - Agrajag, Captain Video and Mika V. All 3 got the bonus shot too (along with the 2 Bachelors).

Look down about 100 pixels from here to check the weekly scoreboard. Thanks to all for playing, and congratulations to all who guessed correctly!
